I became what I always needed – an ADHD Coach.

I needed a coach during all my academic years, especially when in architectural graduate school I heard myself say, ‘I need a wife’.

I needed a coach when I transitioned from full time editor to full time mom. It was a hard transition.

I needed a coach anytime I was told – just do it; try harder; you’re not paying attention; that was stupid; you’re doing that on purpose; why can’t you do what I want you to do; you don’t follow directions; don’t put words in my mouth; I can’t take it anymore; why are you so sensitive; why can’t you do anything right; that’s wrong; you’re wrong and on and on.

Each time I heard negativity I took it to heart and believed it must be so because someone said it.

I’ve since learned I don’t have to believe anything anyone says about me and sometimes I don’t have to believe what I think about myself! This is a healthy result of excellent ADHD Coaching I’ve received and it’s my gift to you. My job is to find what you’re good at and remind you that is the essence of your self-esteem. Maureen Nolan, ACC is an Atlanta ADHD Coach

credentialed in ADHD coaching by the ADHD Coaching Academy,
certified ACC by the International Coaching Association,
the only ADHD Coach in the country certified by Dr. David Grand in Brainspotting and
studied Body/Mind Coaching, Positive Thinking and the Law of Attraction at LifeWorks in Atlanta.

She is a creative coach, small business owner and an active member of the ADHD Coaches Organization.

Maureen has taken extra ADHD Coach training by Jodi Sleeper-Triplett to become an EDGE Foundation Coach for academic success of students from ninth grade through a lifetime of academics.

Maureen believes in the healing aspect of coaching especially of ADHD coaching – not curing it but healing the impact of it on life’s decision making, through improved information processing, goal setting and personal achievement.

Experience and Passion for ADHD Coaching

Before forming the Your Attention Coach business, Maureen was a

former trade magazine editor and
Communications Specialist for a school for students K-8th grades with ADHD and LD, she also
edited Kids Enabled Magazine, an Atlanta-area resource that addresses the challenges of caring for and teaching children with learning differences and
has been published in ADDitude Magazine.
She led ADHD support groups and ADHD coaching groups for goal achievement.

Maureen’s two adult children live with the impact of ADHD and are the reason she was similarly diagnosed and eventually became an ADHD coach. Her son is a graduate of Landmark College, a premier two-year college for students with ADHD.

Positive Thinking and ADHD Coaching

Maureen’s increased focus in attention coaching is an outgrowth of the Positive Thinking movement. Her coaching instructs clients in ADHD education with a belief that education is power:

as L.B. said ‘I learned more in one hour with Maureen about ADHD than in six months with my psychiatrist’.

She also believes in

collaborative relationships with all the support professionals a client brings to the relationship, or is referred to through their work together and
instructs clients in community building for their life-long support. In addition to the conventional education and training,
is interested in Graphology (Handwriting Analysis) as an assessment for attention – as attention is a state of consciousness that is expressed in handwriting.

Maureen Nolan, ACC, Your Attention Coach has practiced ADHD Coaching with bilingual clients, clients as far away as Dubai and is passionate about international ADHD coaching. ADHD does not distinguish among nations!

Do You Take Attention for Granted?

Want my attention?

It sounds so simple – coaching for attention. We all have attention, but how often does it wander? Where does it go? Why? What does it matter? How does attention serve you? (I just stopped writing for a moment to send an email) (just answered the phone, too)

My attention is a commodity that I trade for attention, that I give to my loved ones, that is a source of my pleasure through its stimulating function. Prospective clients are looking for ways to anchor down their attention and to have it serve them better in their lives. On the other end of the spectrum are those who don’t want their attention and move toward addictions to avoid experiencing attention on parts of their lives that cause pain.

I coach for your attention. No longer do I take sweet young faces (my son, Matt for instance when he was young) between my hands and gently guide eyes toward mine for a chance at obtaining attention. Nor do I shout, plead, please, outline, wave, bump, throw, threaten, manipulate or initiate any other sort of attention grabbing activity. If you are my client we agree, disagree, negotiate, honor, value, respect and enjoy each other while working on your goal.

Together we understand your experience of attention; how and when it shows up and how and when it doesn’t. We coach to your strength (when it shows up) and allow the rest of your life to unfold. This is a glorious process of trial and error, cooperation, vision, mission, passion and acceptance. It is creative and sometimes mundane.
